Building on a Tradition of Excellence Campaign Exceeds $8 Million
As maintenance concerns grew and competition increased, the Beta Theta Pi Club of Missouri committed to provide a competitive and safe facility that will meet the needs of its undergraduate members well into the 21st century.
During the past 5 years, a group of dedicated alumni resolved that something must be done to the facility, and the Beta Theta Pi Club explored each opportunity and developed a solid strategy to provide a facility that reflects the long-standing tradition of excellence of Zeta Phi. This hard work has produced a comprehensive plan to look toward the future and provide the men of Zeta Phi with a first-class facility with ample parking.
Construction began in May and our plan promises to make 520 College a place alumni, undergraduates, and parents can be proud of and one which bridges the competitive gap between alternative university and fraternity housing at Mizzou.
The preliminary cost estimate to bring the chapter house back to its rightful condition: $14 million. That figure might scare most. But Zeta Phi took it as a challenge.
This past May, after months of hard work and dedication, Beta Theta Pi launched the Building on a Tradition of Excellence campaign. The announcement included early commitments of more than $7.3 million made by a small number of dedicated alumni. And just last week, Zeta Phi surpassed the $8 million mark.
But this is only the beginning. In order to reach our $10 million goal, alumni are needed to march into action. Altogether, the campaign is on track to exceed our initial goals; recording to date $8,063,131 in contributions fromĀ 177 contributors. This is only the beginning as we need each alumnus to leave their mark on the future of Zeta Phi.
